About ProcureCon Asia 2008
Where Asian American Small Businesses Meet Corporate and Government Buyers & Where US Corporations and Government
Find Asian American Suppliers
Virginia Asian Chamber of Commerce (VACC), primarily a statewide Asian economic development organization, was created in 2004. Its mission is to encourage, stimulate, and support the development and growth of Asian American small businesses in Virginia. It acts as a bridge between the mainstream Virginia with 37 Asian American communities.
In order to accomplish the above objectives we focus our efforts on business development, entrepreneurship development education, and international trade activities.
Asian Chamber Fulfilling Purchasing Officers' Sourcing Needs
1. Matchmaking
The job of the leadership team of Procurecon Asia 2008 Conference is to link our buyers and procurement officers with the highly skilled and qualified small businesses attending the popular conference. Every year, the Procurecon Asia event planning team has developed a reputation for making things happen, delivering the right types of suppliers to the buyers, and bringing the right kinds of business to our suppliers, the conference attendants.
How do we do this? We take what our buyers tell us are some of their target supply-solutions needs, and try to attract and register small companies in targeted buyers' industries in order to create a good fit between suppliers and the buyers. In doing so, we try to focus on attracting suppliers that best meet our buyers' business needs.
Large buyers and the government are eager to collaborate with Asian and multicultural suppliers from all over Virginia because they will exhibit at our conference. Let’s match them with you.
We will match buyers with suitable small business profiles for four-hour prearranged meetings for real-time procurement opportunities to take place in a dedicated room during the conference. This service is offered free of charge to all conference attendants and exhibitors.
All registrants are entitled to schedule 2matchmaking sessions on the day of the event. Any one who have registered and paid early - on or before September 30TH will receive an email with a web address and password. Suppliers will go into the web address with your password and schedule 3 matchmaking sessions for your company. On September 30th all unpaid registrants will receive their email with a web address and password and will be allowed to register at that time.
2. Power Networking
Since 2005, Procurecon Asia trade conferences drew attendees from accross the state. This is due to the development of a burgeoning high-tech community which is supported by cutting-edge R&D activity, both at the universities and federal labs levels in Richmond, nearby Charlottesville, and the Hampton Roads, and within easy driving distance, Blacksburg, as well as to some degree some of the Northern Virginia localities.
It is expected that this year event will attract double the amount and quality of attendees from similar geographical areas at Procurecon Asia 2007. Asian American suppliers are from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Vietnam, China, the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, and Korea. Attendants of ProcureCon Asia 2008 include all small, emerging, minority, and women-owned suppliers.
